Episode 1.13 – Week 6 Recap / Week 7 Preview

The Cowboys come out on the losing end in the Duel in Dallas but Steven sees the good things that came out of the 48-27 loss at the hands of the New England Patriots. The Cowboys comeback to take a brief lead, but MISTAKES, MISTAKES, MISTAKES keep the Cowboys from winning the game.

Steven announces recent Cowboys news: The new Stadium reaches a milestone, as Jerry Jones was there to see the completion of the first steel arch. In other news, Steven sends his thoughts and prayers to former Dallas Cowboys running back Ron Springs.

The Good:
Terrance Newman: Hard to find a bright spot on a team after a loss, but there were actually plenty of good things in this game, and the best was Newman’s performance. His 8 tackles, forced fumble and coverage of Randy Moss shows that the corner is getting healthy and he was doing all he could to lift the Cowboys to a win.

The Bad:
Safety Ken Hamlin: Hamlin was out of position on both the 35 yard TD pass to Wes Welker and the 69 yard TD pass to Donte Stallworth. On both of those plays, Hamlin bit on the play action fake and allowed the receivers to get behind him, making it an easy throw for Tom Brady.

The Ugly:
Penalties AGAIN!: The Cowboys have to fix this soon! On a day when the Cowboys had to be perfect, their 12 penalties for 100 yards were killers. After the Patriots took a 31-24 lead in the 4th quarter, an offensive holding call on Kyle Kosier killed a Cowboys drive near midfield after Marion Barber had successfully converted a 4th and 1.

Instead, the Cowboys were forced to punt, and soon after that the Patriots scored a 69 yard TD and put the game out of reach.
