Episode 1.03 – Training Camp Ends, Here Come The Colts

Say Good-bye to San Antonio and say hello to Texas Stadium and the Indianapolis Colts. The Cowboys training camp ends as it began, with silence. Steven discusses the quiet camp the Cowboys have had this season. A nice surprise from the circus that was last season.

The Cowboys open the pre-season against the Colts at Texas Stadium and Steven tells you what to look for in this first game. From the emergence of running back, Tyson Thompson, to the sitting of Flozell Adams and Marc Colombo for precautionary reasons. Steven gets excited about rookie kicker, Nick Folk. Seriously, he gets excited over a kicker.

Steven talks about how mean, lean and super quick the defense is this year. From safety Roy Williams dropping to 220 pounds and 2nd year linebacker Bobby Carpenter dropping from 258 to around 252 really makes an exciting year for the defense in the works. Wade Phillips is going to unleash an aggressive, attacking blitzing defense against opponents and Steven gets worked up about that.

Plus Steven talks about the visit of 26 year NFL Referee Gerry Austin, and all of the rule changes that are going to be implemented this season. No more spiking the ball after every play and instant replay cut down to 60 seconds.

Finally, Steven says congrats to the “Playmaker”, Michael Irvin, as Mike gives a heart-felt speech as his Hall of Fame induction.
